Gear

Anyone that knows me will know that I am a gear-head. I never really meant to be this way but I became fascinated very early on, with items along the way that seemed to be little landmarks in my tone quest. Everyone loves to say “tone is in the hands.” It is if you have gear in your hands! I definitely know that touch is paramount to getting that really professional (or not!) polished sound to the things you play...and that is another (long) discussion but this is the gear section! I have read, about a zillion guitar mags with gear rundowns, watched so many videos, etc, probably like some of you! Sometimes I wish they would go into more depth…what value capacitors are in the guitar, and so on. Some folks don’t go that far but I always have. So for you folks who enjoy knowing exactly what items “assist” in the sound being made, you are in the right place! I will include text about things that were used in enough detail that we should both be happy. I am also going to go back to my earlier years when I can to document past successes and failures in the quest. Hopefully you will enjoy checking it out as much as I will enjoy putting the info up on this page. I also hope to add some gear related videos on a page of it's own on this site!

From Geoff:

For my shows with Sammy in 2023, my basic rig has stayed the same as it has been in the descriptions below. However a few big things have happened on the equipment side of things…

I am now an Anderson Artist! I have been a big fan of Anderson guitars for a very long time. I got my first one in 2001 and had many throughout the years since then. I have been using my Icon Classic since the beginning of the tours with Sammy and it has really been stellar. I hope to order a new one in 2024. It is an honor, and a privilege to be a part of the family, and I could not be happier with the instruments and company interactions.  Thank you Anderson Guitarworks!
